Watermelon Basil Cooler

Ingredients (serves 2):

  • 2 cups fresh watermelon, cubed and chilled
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 4–6 fresh basil leaves
  • 1 tsp honey or agave syrup (optional)
  • 1 cup soda water or sparkling water
  • Ice cubes
  • Basil sprigs and lime wedges, for garnish

Instructions:

Watermelon Basil Cooler

Blend the Base:
In a blender, combine chilled watermelon chunks, a handful of fresh basil leaves, a squeeze of lemon juice, and a drizzle of honey or agave. Blend until smooth.

Strain (Optional):
For a smoother drink, strain through a fine mesh sieve. If you like it pulpy, skip this step.

Serve:
Fill glasses with ice and pour in the watermelon-basil mixture about ¾ of the way up.

Top with Sparkle:
Add a splash of sparkling water or club soda for fizz. Stir gently.

Garnish:
Add a basil sprig, watermelon wedge, or a slice of lime for a refreshing finish.
