Ingredients (serves 2):
- 1 tbsp dried butterfly pea flowers (or 1–2 butterfly pea tea bags)
- 1 cup hot water
- 1/2 cup fresh lemon juice (about 2–3 lemons)
- 1–2 tbsp honey, agave, or maple syrup (to taste)
- Ice cubes
- Lemon slices or edible flowers, for garnish
Instructions:
- Brew the Tea:
Steep butterfly pea flowers in 1 cup of hot water for 5–7 minutes until deep blue. Strain and let cool completely. - Make Lemonade Base:
In a separate pitcher, mix lemon juice and sweetener. Chill. - Assemble the Drink:
Fill two glasses with ice. Pour the blue butterfly pea tea halfway up the glass. - Pour & Watch the Magic:
Slowly pour the lemon mixture over the back of a spoon into the glass — the color will shift from blue to purple/pink where the citrus hits. Stir gently to combine if you want full color change. - Garnish:
Top with a lemon wheel or edible flower for a fairytale finish.
