🍓 Strawberry Thai Basil Gin Fizz (Cocktail)

Ingredients (serves 2):

  • 4–5 fresh strawberries, hulled
  • 4–6 Thai basil leaves (or regular basil)
  • 3 oz gin
  • 1 oz fresh lemon juice
  • 1 oz simple syrup (or honey/agave, to taste)
  • 1/2 cup soda water or sparkling water
  • Ice cubes
  • Strawberry slices and basil leaves for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Muddle:
    In a shaker, muddle the strawberries and Thai basil with lemon juice and syrup until juicy and fragrant.
  2. Shake:
    Add gin and ice to the shaker. Shake well for 15 seconds.
  3. Strain:
    Strain into two ice-filled glasses (or fine-strain if you don’t want pulp).
  4. Top with Fizz:
    Add soda water to top off each glass. Stir gently.
  5. Garnish:
    Garnish with a fresh strawberry slice and a Thai basil leaf or sprig.

Tips:

  • Thai basil adds a slight anise (licorice) note — more complex than sweet basil.
  • Want a mocktail? Skip the gin, double the strawberries, and use basil lemonade as a base!
